In 2024, ESPA provided over €10,000 in legal support to our members on individual issues across EirGrid and ESB.
ESPA is currently in negotiation with the company on pay talks, terms and conditions, and expenses.
We are the only association representing EirGrid workers, and have secured real improvements to terms and conditions.
ESPA members stand alongside engineering and professional grades across the energy sector.

The 2023 Supreme Court ruling in H.A. O'Neill v Unite the Union reaffirmed the rights of unions to organise and picket, strengthening the interpretation of the 1990 Act — clarifying that where unions follow proper procedure, courts cannot easily grant injunctions to stop industrial action.
